2008 Day Three Hundred Twenty Seven

I won an award from Utah Savage. I am addicted to her blog. A most excellent woman who can write so wonderfully about all types of subjects. I must admit I like the stories she tells the best. It is no wonder she has a large following. I am honored that she gave me this award.

I would like to honor the following this award: The Heart Mandala for the Bloggers With the Open Heart

My kindred spirit-friend: Pidomon You know how special you are to me.

Bob of Phydeaux and Phriends - Because you have a wonderful heart full of wisdom and knowledge.

Robin of Tales of Brave Sir Robin - A lovely man and friend who also has a kind heart.

I woke up this morning thinking it was Sunday, but, it's only Saturday! How nice! M took my keys by accident so I had to go down to AAA and swap keys. While I was out I stopped at Walmart. The pups were out of treats and I needed a few things. Then to Safeway to pickup a few more things to complete tonight's dinner. We are having soft chicken tacos. Currently the chicken is in the pot simmering in spices, making the house smell so good. I also got logs for the fireplace tonight.

I finished an earring order tonight for Vicki. They are so pretty I was tempted to make a pair for myself. She gave me the colors: red, amber and crystal on gold. So fitting for the holidays. And a pair of Dcup inspired goddess earrings too.

Its cold and foggy tonight. Perfect night for staying in and maybe a little soak in the hot tub. Ahhh peace on earth, or for our little space on this planet.

Peace and happiness to all of you too.

2008 Day Three Hundred Twenty Six

Winter has arrived! I do not care what the calendars say! We had real snow, inches in fact...so winter has begun. I love when it first snows. I brought the grape lights from downstairs and put them along the mantle. They are such pretty night lights. And with a fire in the fireplace and a peppermint mocha and a good movie on the tv or a good book or nice music playing...Nirvana...

Speaking of music. I'm sorry if my music bugs people who visit. The reason I have it on my blog is that so when I am at work I can play music in my office. Sometimes I just can't find an online radio station I like, so I keep this music here so I can play it when I want. Just mute your speakers, but please visit and visit often, I like the company.

Our furnace stopped working this morning. We all ran around in a panic. I called Banner Fuel AT 5:00 AM this morning and they showed up around 10:00. Seems they installed the wrong size blower last time, so our regular guy replaced it and we had heat again.

Ventured out in the snow to the bank, returned movies and stopped at Joann's. Bought some really pretty purple crystals and some silver findings - all at 40% off. Also stopped at the grocery store. When leaving the store it was snowing pretty good and was starting to stick, so, I headed for home.

Now I am going down to my studio and create some jewelry...maybe with a peppermint mocha in hand and some new cd's...

Happy evening everybody.

2008 Day Three Hundred Twenty Five Happy Thanksgiving

Happy Thnsgiving! While most of you are cooking birds and all the trimmings we are venturing out in the new car and heading for the casino. We are going to a new casino we have never been to before. The Coeur d'Alene Casino I want to win one of those Lucky You Jackpots so I can make an obnoxious commercial waving all that cash around! LOL

Wish us luck.

I am thankful of course for my family, new job and all that we have. But I am also thankful for all the friends I have made through this blog this past year. You are all dear to me. So enjoy this holiday to the fullest.

2008 Day Three Hundred Twenty Two

Not much going on around here. Just work, but, for only 2 more days. Saw BJ and Jacob last night before they flew back to California. She is so beautiful.

I made beans and cornbread last night. Good comfort food for a chilly night. This morning it was 26 degrees.

Black Friday ads are making their way to my computer. Borders has the John Adams dvd for only $35.99. I picked Bob at work for the gift exchange. They have mentioned he likes gadgets. So if you know of any cool gadgets, please let me know. M wants a remote start for the Sorrento. I am hoping with Circuit City closing their stores they will have a sale on those.

And then there are those who are pondering life:

2008 Day Three Hundred Twenty

It has been a nice Sunday. We lazed around the house most of the morning. After a late breakfast, we went to Petco for dog food, Shopko for new silverware that was on sale and looked for boots for M, but, could not find.

We came home and watched the movie Bucket List. What a great movie! We laughed and cried and cried some more.

M took me out to the Sportsman for charbroiled steaks. We are home now, full and sleepy, but, too early for bed.

Pido - loved the vlog!! A must do for every week!

More earring orders and a bracelette order to fill. I have earrings to give BJ when she comes by tomorrow.

Only a 3 day week this week. I think we can survive that.

2008 Day Three Hundred Nineteen

Happy Saturday! I spent most of my day shopping and running errands. I mailed my earring orders, went bead shopping, bought a new cover for the hot tub (hoping they will deliver it on monday), rented movies, and bought M a surprise from the Hallmark store (a battery operated snow globe that changes color).

DK got me Kenny Chesney's cd "Lucky Old Sun". Nice.

It was a busy day. M got off work early and took me for a quad mocha. I will be up for awhile. I made hamburgers for dinner.

I know, I have such an exciting life. LOL.

2008 Day Three Hundred Eighteen

It's Friday! I worked on earring orders last night and completed them all. They are going in the mail tomorrow. Hope my friends will like what I have created for them.

It was so busy yesterday at work. We added 5 new groups. Maureen and I went and picked up the lunch. Spokane is such a small town while trying to be a big city. Working at Chicken-n-More was my old supervisor, Adell's mother and to my big surprise my old neighbor Tonette was there also. It was so great to see them both! The lunch was a nice break in a busy day.

Looking forward to busy weekend. Like Dcup said - go out and treat yourself today - just because its Friday!!

Wednesday, November 19, 2008

I was sleepy all day. I went to bed real early and now at 10:45 I am wide awake, so decided to post.

It was a good day. I kept busy all day as I usually do. My office mate, Michele comes back tomorrow. We are planning luncheon for tomorrow in her honor. We are bringing in food from Chicken-n-More. Southern food. So I got everyone's orders and most of everyone's money and faxed in the order. Tomorrow morning I am going to stop and get a welcome back balloon. It should be fun.

Cheney being indicted in Texas? It has got to be a good day. Daschle being picked to Obama's team. Oh yeah I really good day. Hollywood Video called and is giving me a free rental just made it an even better day. M's bonus check will be more than we thought and will be on his next check, so the day gets better and better. And sold earrings today too.

Hope everyone's day tomorrow gets better and better.

2008 Day Three Hundred Fourteen

We bought the car! A 2008 white KIA Sorrento. It's pretty nice.It is M's car, so the chances of me driving it much are slim. LOL! Maybe after the newness wears off.

Tonight is earring making night! I have orders to fill. How exciting is that? Utah, yours are fabulous! And Betty, I have some heading your way too, finally. I will probably get to the post office on Thursday or Friday or no later than Saturday, depending on weather. They are predicting snow for Thursday. Probably won't be much. I love you all, and thanks for the orders.

Now its off to work. Hope eveyone has a most excellent day.

Yesterday we went out for a drive now that gas is below $2.00 a gallon. We went and looked at KIA's. M wants to buy a KIA Sportage. We saw a nice green one that was marked down at a tempting amount. Also took the dogs to the groomer.

I bought us all KFC for lunch for Saturday and Sunday. Too much to do to stop and make lunch.

Last night I went with Joyce to a jewlery party. Nice work but very expensive, since I now know what it costs to make most of the beaded items. I did buy the most fresh smelling lemongrass soap. It was fun to listen to all the ladies chatter and tell stories.

Have a fun spell bounding weekend everyone.

2008 Day Three Hundred Fourteen

I wrote a nice long text the other day but it would not post. Only the picture would. I needed to restart my computer and by the time that was done...well, you know, it was time to rush out the door to work.

Yesterday my company had their open house/new beginning/grand opening. It was a nice affair. Lots of food and drinks. 400 people showed up. My job was greeter and name tag maker. Even our newly elected Republican congresswoman came. I bit my tongue and did not ask her why she is so evil, why she voted along with Bush 99% of the time, why she is not pro-choice... it could go on and on. The people I was giving a tour were shaking her hand and saying what an honor. I just had to sigh and move on. On the other hand I brought lots of food home, chunked meats and cheese that made a wonderful omelet and fruit for a fruit salad.

I am so happy it is Friday. We pick up DK up at the airport tonight. M has been working days this week, so he has the weekend off. That will be different. Found out his company will be paying a year end bonus which will be in his next check. Monday everything will go back to normal.

Please, everyone go and visit Dcup's's blog. Not only is she a wonderful writer, but, she has graciously featured some of my jewelry work on her blog. Thank you Dcup!

Have a great weekend everyone.

2008 Day Three Hundred Eleven Veterans Day

If I was Obama, I would hold up any monies going to the state of California until their governor corrects the unconstitional Prop 8. He was asking for 7 Billion. I'd say not a dime Gov until everyone in your state has equal rights.

Also their are states that still have not ratified the woman's right to vote. These states are in red:

The may let us vote, but under the law we as women still are not equal. The fight for equality wages on.

******

We are exploring the idea of buying a new car. A black cherry KIA Sportage. We have started the loan dance with the bank.

Still damp and rainy. Its feeling more like winter than fall. Not much else going on here.

Have a terrific Tuesday!

2008 Day Three Hundred Ten

The chinese dinner was fun last night. We sat at a table with a lazy susan so we could spin all the plates of food around. That way all could try each dish. Deb and Pat are just the nicest people and their son Riley is sweet.

Did not do much else yesterday, except made lots and lots of earrings.

It is going to be rainy and cold week, with only Thursday showing a break in the weather. It's back to work today.

Hope everyone has a nice week.

2008 Day Three Hundred Eight

It is budget time again. Time that we look at our expensives and see where all the money is going. We have decided to write down everything we spend for the next 2 months and actually see where our money is going.

We have priorities of things that need spending on. First getting the heater fixed in M's truck. We have been talking about trading it in on a SUV 4 wheel drive. We need 4 wheel drive here in the winter. I still remember getting stuck in the snow last year, in front of the house of all places. Second we need to replace the hot tub cover. Ours is getting old and soggy, which makes it very heavy.

It is going to be a wet, rainy and windy weekend. Good weekend to stay in and clean house and make earrings. I do have a few errands to run today. Post Office, Walmart, Costco and Safeway. Speaking of Safeway, Thursday when I stopped for gas, by using my Safeway card I got 90 cents of a gallon off the price. So I paid only $1.46 per gallon. Filled my tank which was on empty for only $20.70. Felt like being back in the 1980's.

Tomorrow we are going to our favorite chinese restaurant for dinner with our friends Debbie and Pat. Should be good times. What are your favorite chinese entrees? I have this one favorite dish call Pan Fried Chicken with garlic sauce. The chicken is real crispy and the sauce is real spicy. Love it!

I am sending out wishes for everyone to have a fun, relaxing and most excellent weekend.

2008 Day Three Hundred Six

I am still happy and still smiling. I am looking forward to President Obama taking the oath.

Rained most of the day today. Damp and wet. It was suppose to snow, but, didn't. I got an early start this morning by taking DK to the airport. He is spending the week down in California and will be back next Friday. I came back home and had breakfast with M. It was a busy day at work as most days are. Joyce called off sick today. At lunch I tried to find this pharmacy that has a post office in it, but, could not find it. After work I drove to the post office on Garland, but, of course, they are only open 8 to 5. Same hours I work. So tomorrow at lunch I will try again.

Tonight will be a quiet night with a few chores and some tv.

2008 Day Three Hundred Five

WOW! We did it! As Utah says, "Time to party" I am definitely looking forward to a brighter future.

They are predicting our first snow for today. I looked out and no snow yet, so, maybe they were kidding.

Work is still great. I love my new office mate, Michele. Can you believe she has black & white shih tzus too?

DK leaves on vacation tomorrow. He is returning back to California to visit all the friends he left behind.

That's about all happening here at the Spotted Moose Cafe.

Now on to the party...

Welcome first family...

2008 Day Three Hundred Two

The clocks in our house have fallen back. It will now start to get dark earlier. Up here in the northwest that sometimes means real early like between 4:00 and 4:30. When I was young and single I loved that. Now I feel like going to bed before 8:00. Here it is tonight at 4:45 already staring to get dark.

We had our Day of the Dead feast and remembered all who had passed before us. I made the whole turkey dinner with apple crisp for dessert. Now we all stuffed. M is watching tv, DK went back to bed and I'm here. Besides cooking I have been making earrings and did catch Obama's speech from Ohio. He gives me so much hope that we may actually win this time. Tuesday night will be a long night.

Its been a great weekend. Hope everyone else had a nice one too.
