Still on the hook - situation unresolved. Maybe tomorrow. After today I am ready for a new life.

2008 Day Two Hundred Eleven

I am about to do something risky and maybe downright crazy. Dianne has offered me a job to work on a temp assignment for about 5 months. It pays about $4.00 an hour more than I make now. That is roughly about $720.00 more per month. The lingering doubt? Do I leave a safe secure job I do not like for the opportunity for that much more pay for the short time. I will be hardpressed to find a job when this one ends. I have many skills and it has never been a problem finding a job. But the times are different now - not as many jobs to fill.

I talked to my friend, Sharma, and she reminded me I could always go back to Pitney Bowes if I had to. And she is right. If I start looking for a job 3 weeks before it ends I'm sure something will come up. But there then that nagging doubt - what if it doesn't. I have alot to protect - house, car, bills...

I think I'm going to do it. Will know for sure by end of week.

The weather today reminds me of the midwest. Cooler, cloudy and a bit muggy. I absolutely love it. Feels almost like early fall, which we know is still 3 months away. No worries it will be hot again by the weekend. So I will enjoy this for the 2 days it is suppose to sick around.

The house smells so good. I'm cooking a pork roast. I want to feed M a good meal before I talk to him about my decision. I know he will back me but he will also have the same doubt. Did I ever mention I'm a little bit crazy?

2008 Day Two Hundred Ten

Yeah! Pido is home from the convention. Go and see some great pictures of his trip to San Diego and welcome him home.

Nothing much went on today. Typical Monday. I did sell 10 pairs of earrings that I made over the weekend. That was cool.

I met M for lunch at the Viking. After coming home we pretty much did ... Nothing.

Have a trippy Tuesday.

2008 Day Two Hundred Nine

We decided to go out and have breakfast this morning. Went to one of our usual places, The Crossroads. It was the first time we ever had a terrible breakfast there. M's steak was well done, like shoe leather and my toast was burnt. The waitress took it back and when she brought it back his steak was close to raw and she brought the same toast back out but just flipped it over. When we complained the waitress went somewhere and came back and said the manager would take $5 off the bill. When we left we passed the manager who was on a personla phone call. We have crossed this place off our list. Not for the bad food, but, mainly for the bad service.

Came home and read the want ads. There was nothing in the paper that I had not already applied for. The search goes on.

Spent the rest of the afternoon making earrings. Made one of our favorite comfort meals tonight - Chili Mac with sides of cucumbers in vinegar and garlic buns.

Back to hell tomorrow. Hope everyone has a pleasurable Monday.

2008 Day Two Hundred Eight

Saturdays are so wonderful. Sleeping in, eating a real breakfast, having the whole day to do what I want to do. What could be better?

I took M to work. Called Lorna to see if she was home but she way out at the Outlet Mall in Post Falls. Another time..made an agreement to go and see Mama Mia sometime this week.

Went to Beads & Treasures and bought a few beads, not many. From there I drove out to Woof Fest at our local Humane Society. Visited all the booths that they had set up and saw all the dogs up for adoption. I bought a really cool tye-dye t-shirt that had printed on it Peace, Love and Muddy Paws. It was pretty hot out there so i did not stay long.

When I got home I applied for about 4 jobs that were on craigslist. Worked on earring projects. And just enjoyed being home.

Welcome C&R's new addtion to the family Mr. Bean:

I can't wait til you come to visit, so you can play with the pack.

Hope everyone is enjoying their weekend.

2008 Day Two Hundred Seven

That it being Friday is a very good thing. Two days to recoop and regain enough strength for another week in Hell.

My new team lead made us waffles this morning. They were most yumable. Just a regular day filled with okay people and a few nasty ones.

I came home and made DK and I tacos. I spent most of the day working on making earrings. Around 7:00 I fell asleep and woke up just before M got home.

2008 Day Two Hundred Six

Just another day. The toaster burned up. No calls about any job today. I did go to the library and then the bank - normal errands. I stopped at JC Penney and exchanged M's pants for the correct size. While there I bought a four slice toaster - on sale from $50 to 19.99.

Talked to Lorna and heard about last weekend. I'm glad I forgoed that since it was blistering hot. I did sell a few pair of earrings this morning.

I made enchiladas for dinner. Another hot day in the forecast for tomorrow. But it is Friday and that is a good thing. I tried to take Monday and Tuesday off as floating holidays, but already the quota of people are already off for those days. I looked through the whole month of August and did not find a day that I could get a day off. Of course I am hoping I will not be there in August.

I hope you enjoy your Friday.

2008 Day Two Hundred Five

It is so beautiful here today. Driving home the temperature sign read 71 degrees. Now that is about perfect.

I had my last one on one with my old supervisor. It went well. Of course I had to tell her she never brought us fresh made waffles to our desk like our new supervisor is going to do on Friday.

Yesterday I applied for a job at InCyte Pathology and today I faxed my resume to a blind ad. Everyday I have made a goal to apply somewhere.

Not much else going on. Just beading and computer playing.

Have a totally cool Thursday.

2008 Day Two Hundred Four

Another day in hell with emails to remind the drones to keep their heads down and keep pushin on. Yeah, keep pushing me out the door.

When I got home I had an email from Triumph, one of the companies I applied at yesterday. They used to be Boeing. Anyway, they sent 3 forms plus an application to download to complete and send back. I finished all of them and then faxed them back to Cindy. That would be nice job if it happens. Hopefully I can get an interview.

I spent the rest of the afternoon doing nothing much at all. Just enjoying the cooler weather. It is nice and cloudy. So different from the 92 degrees yesterday. No rain yet, just a few sprinkles.

Hope everyone has a pleasant Wednesday.

2008 Day Two Hundred Three

I have made a commitment to make job hunting a job. Everyday afterwork I need to apply at 3 new places. Today I applied at Triumph Composite Systems, Spokane Foot.com (maybe they can heal my sad feet) and printed out the application to complete for Spokane Mental Health (and maybe they can heal my sad sick mind). The last one I will fill out the application and drop it off after work tomorrow along with cover letter and resume.

It was very hot today, back in the 90's again. Tomorrow it will be cooler and we are expecting some well needed rain. Maybe a thunder bumper or two.

I made bacon avacado hamburgers for an early dinner. Made us both full enough to hold us over till tomorrow.

I have been thinking about the election and I think they should suspend any more campaigning and I think it is time for these 2 senators to go back to work. Isn't that what we pay them to do. Not fly around the country and now to other countries so the guzzle beer and make fools of themselves. I also think they should only have the money that is donated on the tax form to work with. No extra donations. That would cut down on some crummy commercials that play over and over. Just a thought.

Have a nice Friday. Hope it is cooler wherever you might be. If not, enjoy a popcicle on the deck with me.

2008 Day Two Hundred Two

It has been a wonderful Sunday. We started out by taking DK out for breakfast at one of our favorite places, The Crossroads. Good food, good service - always great.

Came home and worked on earrings and took a nice nap. Must have needed it.

Today was Chris' 60th birthday party. All family and friends were in attendance. It was nice seeing everyone and finally meeting Scott and Judy from the lake that I have heard so much about. I can see why they are liked so much. It's funny M's family and now Chris' family has become my family. Nice.

Des was there with her beautiful daughter Ariel. We traded earrings for getting my hair done sometime soon. Des is the only person who I will allow to do my hair. Judy ordered 2 pairs of earrings and paid me in advance. I will work on those tomorrow.
Long dangles in red on copper findings and another pair in purples on gold findings.

Jim was there with his girlfriend Kathy (a fireman and paramedic) Jim is the one who rescued Lady from the lake and raised and found homes for her puppies and then gave Lady to me. I brought Lady over so he could see her. Jim will always have a special place in my heart for sharing Lady with me so many years ago.

All in all it was a wonderful day. Back to hell tomorrow. I'm sending out wishes to everyone to have a good week.

2008 Day Two Hundred One

It has been a pretty low key day. I have kept my feet up most of the day. I did drive M to work. From there I went to the library and returned books and picked up books I had on reserve. I went over to JC Penney and bought M 3 new pairs of levis and 2 new golf shirts. I also picked up DK some well needed socks and 2 shirts they on sale. I was so thirsty so I drove to Sonic and got a lemon berry slushie. While I was waiting in the drive up line the manager came up and asked if I wanted a free tshirt. Of course I do. Thanked him for coming to Spokane and then drove around the corner to our favorite coffee stand and got M a granita.

I took him his granita because I wanted to show him what I bought him. He was thrilled.

After that I've been home with the air conditioners on and just relaxing and giving my feet a break. They are doing so much better today. Tomorrow it is suppose to be really hot in the mid nineties, so I am opting out of selling at the market. I don't want to risk having my feet back they way they were a few days ago.

DK started his new job and now works the graveyard shift. He was always a night owl.

2008 Day Two Hundred

It's FRIDAY! I am so happy. I am out of Hell for 2 days.

There is so much going on in and around town for the next 2 weekends. But we are on the poor side of the hill this month. Not sure why. Plus I am having a little issue with my toes, as most diabetics suffer from time to time. So I have a weekend of putting my feet up and reading, tv watching and beading. I probably will not work the market because of it. I need to get them well before abusing them by standing out in 90 degree weather on hard asphalt.

Not much else is going on. Hope everyone has an fun exciting Friday night.

2008 Day One Hundred Ninety Nine

I sat in the training class most of the day being bored to tears. I also talked to Dianne about the interview yesterday. She said that the two women who interviewed me really liked me and after interviewing with me have decided to try and open a new position that would encompass all my traffic experience including the international distribution and shipping expertise. I'm excited. It will be interesting to see how this plays out and if they actually offer this type of position. It would be so great to actually work in my field again.

Not much else happening today. Just another warm sunny day. I did watch the latest episode of Burn Notice. DK definitely got me hooked on this show.

Hope everyone has a fabulous Friday.

2008 Day One Hundred Ninety Eight

I had an interview today at a company called Rescue. The interview itself went well, but, I'm thinking they really want someone part time, not full time. It was also a little far to drive. Looks like its back to hell tomorrow. And training for 5 hours on the new monitoring system. Big Brother would be proud of this company.

Speaking of Big Brother, I did not realize that Big Brother 10 started this week. I did not watch Big Brother 9 because it was so gimmicky. But looks like they are back to the normal format of scheming, lying and backstabbing. Just the way we like it.

I have an earring order to work on tonight. Lorna called and seems we are working the market on Sunday. I hope it is not too hot (weather wise).

2008 Day One Hundred Ninety Seven

First day back from my wonderful vacation. It was nice to see my pals. It was busy and I had to start my new schedule, where my lunch is at 9:00 in the morning. Weird, but, that is nothing new at this crazy place. It was busy so time flew by. I talked to Dianne on my lunch and now she says she is working on more jobs. I am not going to get excited until I know for sure I have something. Too many have fizzeled out and left me blue.

DK has band friends in from Montana playing at one of the clubs downtown. So he is out for the night. He says he will be home in the morning. So I have had the house to myself this afternoon.

All I've been doing is straightening up and doing dishes and laundry. These two chores never seem to go away.

I have plenty to keep me busy till M get home a little after 9:00. It was also hot today. The temp sign on my way home said 91 degrees. So I kept the air conditioner on but will turn it off once it cools down.

Have a wild or mild Wednesday.

2008 Day One Hundred Ninety Six

Last Day of vacation. So sad that I must return to hell tomorrow.

Went with M to his doctor appointment this morning. They put him on some new medicine and he got a referral to a new orthopedic surgeon. After that we went to the library. I had a book on reserve and I also checked out Keith Olberman's book and the movie Charlie Wilson's War with Tom Hanks and Julia Roberts.

We went and picked up M's Northwind check and put it in the bank. Then he took me out to lunch at DeLeon's. Always wonderful. While at lunch I got a call from the postal annex place and said DK's computer has finally arrived. So we went to pick that up. In the same center is the new ACE Hardware store, where I had to return what I bought the other day. But what was cool is that they now have keys with enammeled Disney prints on them. I had my house key made on a Pirates of the Carribean one. I know, no surprise there, but I was leaning towards picking the pink tinkerbell one.

I am working on another job. Hopefully this one will pan out and not fizzle away like the last 2. She was suppose to call me back this afternoon, but didn't. So I am not getting too excited about it.

I watched Food Network Star and my Aaron is rocking! I was surprised that they chose Adam to stay and let Chelsie go, but as long as Aaron stays, I'm good. Saving Grace starts tonight. Another series to record. I am going to record The Mole too.

My Karma Cards I had on my list at BOCM2 came today. It will be fun to use these in readings.

Made meatloaf with baked potatoes tonight. I guess I will need to go to bed early since now I am already used to sleeping in. It will be hard to rise at 3:00.

Hope everyone survived Monday.

2008 Day One Hundred Ninety Four

Even though its the weekend, I am still enjoying vacation. I wasn't too ambitious today. We got up and took the dogs to the groomer.

DK got a job. He starts next week. So he told me about it this morning. I watched cooking shows, made breakfast and did a few loads of laundry. Its amazing to me how much laundry the two of us create. I also did the dreaded job of cleaning out the refrigerator.

I went to the library this afternoon and picked up some books I had on reserve. One book titled Spirit of the West: Cooking from Ranch House and Range I liked so much I ordered it through Amazon.com. The book is full of New Mexico and Tex-Mex recipes which I can't wait to try.

I made tacos tonight for dinner. Something nice and easy. I am going to spend the rest of the evening working on earrings and maybe a few bracelettes.

Hope everyone has a sinfully nice Saturday night.

2008 Day One Hundred Ninety Three

I went with M to the doctor today. We talked with the orthopedic surgeon. We both agreed that we did not like him and did not agree with his diagnosis. A second opinion will need to be done. They gave him another cordizone shot and sent him on his way.

We stopped at our favorite German deli, Alpine Deli. It was not as good as it once was. It was very dissapointing. M ordered a rueben and they had run out of rye bread so made it on french bread - definitely not the same. So we will check this place off our list of favorites.

I think the job they found for me has fell through. I guess I will start looking in earnest. Dissapointed, yes, but, not defeated.

Tonight we are going to M's folk's house for fried chicken dinner. DK was off to a job interview this afternoon and did not know if he will be back to join us.

This afternoon I am working on earrings and housework. But I'm still on vacation! I am so happy for that.

Hope you enjoy the dragons and have a fun Friday night.

2008 Day One Hundred Ninety Two

V-A-C-A-T-I-O-N DAY ONE - Absolute Nirvana! I slept in til 7:30. I did a little bit of housework and then ran some errands. Bank to deposit checks, Petco to buy dog food, Value Village to donate a big bag of clothes, library to return books and movies and Ace hardware to buy some painters tape and a 3 way telephone splitter.

DK now has me hooked on a new tv show called Burn Notice on USA channel. We watched the marathon of past episodes. Tonight starts the new season. Also the new show The Great American Dog starts tonight. And I am also recording Hopkins.

When M came home from the shop he took me to the Viking for lunch. I ordered the big guacamole bacon burger. It was so good. I still have 1/2 left for dinner tonight when and if I get hungry.

I've been making earrings. It is so nice to have the free time to do so.

It's been very windy here today. We have some fires close in to Spokane and they are having a heck of a time trying to contain them with this 30 mph wind. But its been much milder and with the strong breeze most of the day it has been very comfortable.

2008 Day One Hundred Ninety One

This was the worst day ever at work. I am not a crier. It takes alot to make me cry, but, today after 9 calls in a row from ugly, rude people I cried. I made a decision that this has to stop. I knew right then I can not do this anymore. I have to go somewhere else. And maybe this happened so I was able to accept an opportunity that came my way this afternoon. I got the call I've been waiting for. More money, not a call center, weekly pay, working in accounts receivable for a window manufacturer. I told Dianne I could start on Tuesday. She said Crystal will call me back with all the details. Now I just have to decide how to quit. Any suggestions?

I'm on vacation!!! How wonderful is that? The plans for these 5 days is beading, picture taking, relaxing, cooking, bbq'ng and just enjoying not working.

I am making tacos tonight with a pitcher of Bloody Mary's. I'm going to celebrate going on vacation and to my new adventure.

Thanks to all of you that have given me your support. It has mean't alot to me and I do love all of you.

ps..the picture is not me, but, just how I feel today. Kind of piratey..

2008 Day One Hundred Ninety

It was another brutal busy day at work today. But that's okay because only one more day to go before I take vacation! I am looking forward to that for sure.

This afternoon I came home and have the house to myself. I finished dishes that were not done last night because I went to bed at 6:00. I plan on spending the rest of the day rearranging my beading station and do some beading.

I watched the last episode of Food Network Star when I got home. My Aaron is hanging in there! I hope he wins. Shane was boring so it was a good choice to send him on his way. Tonight is the finale of Hell's Kitchen. I cannot wait to see who wins.

Hope everyone is having a terrific Tuesday.

2008 Day One Hundred Eighty Nine

It was way too busy at work today. It always is the day after a holiday weekend. People were nasty. Must be close to a full moon. If not, I do not have the explanation for them.

Came home this afternoon and made spaghetti. Enough for 2 days. Now I am full and sleepy. There is nothing on tv, so I am going to bed early and read.

Hope everyone has a nice evening.
