2008 Day Three Hundred Happy Halloween

Went to the bead shop today and bought new beads for earrings. Nobody dressed up, including me, for Halloween at work today. But they did let us go home 1 hour early. My boss acknowleged that I am doing a good job. And I was put on the Company's org Chart! How about that?

Happy Halloween everybody!

2008 Day Two Hundred Ninety Eight

I still love Bill Clinton!! And he proved why tonight so well.

I bought the Halloween candy tonight. but, still not sure if we will get any treaters. It will be cold and rainy here Friday night. My favorite kind of weather.

Work is getting nice and busy. Still love it.

2008 Day Two Hundred Ninety Seven

Yesterday we had out potluck/company meeting. It was very nice. Lots of great food and the meeting was very informative of where the company is going. Since last January the company's business has trippled. It was stressed that the hope our current governor will be re-elected because that is somehow tied in to our growth due to a program she created.

The election is getting close. Our ballots have been filled out and dropped off. All we can do now is suffer through the nastiness and wait for next Tuesday with fingers crossed and hope in our hearts.

Thought I lost my music player last night. I was trying to update some of the songs. But this morning it was back. Whew!

They are predicting a rainy Halloween. We do not get many trick or treaters. A few little ones and then later in the night some rowdy teenagers. Not like it used to be. I may dress up for work, but, still not sure.

Have a terrific Tuesday. Welcome back Pidomon! To DCup and Utah Savage - thank you for the wonderful writing. Its always a treat to go and read your blogs.

We have had the most perfect autumn weather lately. Yesterday was just so nice. I took M to work. He started his new earlier shift. On the way back I stopped at Walmart to pick up some household stuff and dog treats.

Spent most of the day cleaning house and watching the marathon of Haunted Evidence on the Travel Channel. Another one of my new favorite shows. I did make a few earrings.I drove DK to work. After picking M up from work we decided to go out to dinner. We went to the Sportsman. I had the liver, onions and bacon and M had the chicken fried steak. Just downhome cooking, nothing fancy. I was so tired when we got home we stayed up for just a bit and then went to bed. It was a good day all in all.

2008 Day Two Hundred Ninety Three

I am learning all kinds of new things on my job. The days just zip by. The company is planning their Grand Opening for the new building for early next month. They are ordering all staff these really cool fleece vests. Choice of red or light gray. I picked the gray. Monday we are having a company wide meeting and potluck. I am bringing a pan of chicken enchiladas with green sauce.

I was going to out with the girls to The Globe after work, but, M came home early from work sick. I hope he is not having a relapse. After work I stopped at DeLeon's for lots of Mexican food to go. Plenty to last for a couple of dinners and lunches.

No winner on my Lotto quick pick, guess I will keep on working.

Happy Friday to everybody!

2008 Day Two Hundred Ninety One

I got my ballot this weekend. I'm going to open and complete it today. There are few bills I want to read up on. Like the Die with Dignity bill.

Not much going on in these parts. Just trying to stay above water.

2008 Day Two Hundred Eighty Seven

Lots going on today. After I take M to work I'm heading to the fairgrounds to attend Bead Stampede. Lots of bead suppliers converge from out of state to take all my extra cash.

Then later in the afternoon I am going to go and get my hair done.

2008 Day Two Hundred Eighty Six

Once again John McCain shows what a mistake it would be if he is chosen to lead this country. I'm scared! Let hope they don't steal the election like they have the last 2times.

Do you want this crazy lunatic running the country?

M and I got our flu shots today at my work. It was bosses day so Joyce brought an apple cake and I brough cards for all 4 bosses. It was nice and I don't think they expected anything. I took lunch to M from the new place Apple Spice Catering. It was good, but too expensive. Definitely not worth the price.

Wishing everyone a cool Friday. A special prayer going out to my friend Pido and his sister.

Debate Night! Go Obama! Rock the house!

2008 Day Two Hundred Eighty Four

Work was a little slow today. No mail, so, no bank deposit. I kept busy working on little projects. M took me to lunch at D'lish's. It was quite good.

I saw Melissa when leaving Safeway this evening. She is still looking to leave Guardian, but, said there hasn't been any jobs that looked interesting to her. It was great seeing her. Hopefully we can get the girls together and do something soon. I also emailed Nancy this morning. We are going to try to get together tomorrow after work.

Watched all my favorite political news shows. Palin is living in her own make believe world where she cannot read she was found guilty of breaking her states ethics law. She and McLame are definitely nuts!

2008 Day Two Hundred Eighty Three

It was a totally lazy day. Slept in, made jewelry and watched tv. Dinner was already made because we had leftover stew. All I can say is a nice relaxing day.

and...

Palin saying she is not guilty of abuse of power...I say OJ is sitting in a cell saying he was railroaded. Both are in denial of their crimes.

2008 Day Two Hundred Eighty Two

I got up early and took Sammie to the vet. They pulled two loose teeth and removed the growth (we think it was a wart) from his front paw. He now has a cute blue bandage on his paw and a cute smile. I also sold $40.00 of earrings to all the girls at the vet office.

Came home and put the beef stew in the crockpot for tonight and make breakfast for us.

2008 Day Two Hundred Eighty One

Not much to report on today. I'm hoping the Florida sheriff in uniform that ranted and raved at the McLame rally gets fired. He should have known better. Their rallies are getting more like mob scenes with mob mentality, yelling terrorist or Let's Kill Him. Pretty sad the repoops want to sink that low. And Cindy Botox McLame! Can you imagine 4 years of that cold ice rich b...? Did she forget her stupid lame husband also voted to not support the troops or vote for the GI bill? More stupidity!

On the homefront, work is still going great. Time to start decorating for Halloween! The pumpkins are starting to show up at the markets! Who else decorates for Halloween or Samhain? It's my favorite holiday.

2008 Day Two Hundred Eighty

This is why they would never allow me to enter the debate arena and ask the questions that real people want to ask. Like about the negative campaign that Grampy McLame has started up. McLame was so odd at time throughout the debate.

Its now very cold in the mornings. Time to break out the sweaters and warmer clothes. My friend, Joyce, from work gave me a yummy sounding apple cake recipe and its definitely apple season.

Combine 2 cups sugar w/2 eggs - mix well.

Add 4 cups sliced apples to mixture - pare, core and slice each apple into 16 slices (about 4 large apples)

Add 1 cup chopped walnuts (again, I like nuts so I probably use double this amount)

Sift together:

2 cups flour

2 tsp baking soda

2 tsp cinnamon (I use HEAPING tsps)

1/4 tsp clove

1 tsp salt

Add to apple mixture - mix well - pour into greased 9 x 13 pan - bake at 350 for 45-50 minutes - adjust for less time if using glass pan.

Frost w/cream cheese frosting:

1/4 cup butter or margarin

3 oz cream cheese

2 cups powdered sugar

2 tsp vanilla

Mix until well, then beat for a good long time until really light and fluffy. Frosting becomes almost white when beat long enough.

I may try and bake one this weekend.

2008 Day Two Hundred Seventy Nine

HAPPY BIRTHDAY BETTY AND MANY MORE!!!
It is my friend, BETTY's birthday. She has become a very good friend. I've come to know her as my blog sisiter. Please go by and wish her a very Happy Birthday at Betty's This and That.

Tonight is the debate in Betty's home town. Hopefully we can put this negative campaigning to an end. McLame has just as many shady associations. And Palin's own husband belonged to a group that advocated to cecede from America. She addressed their convention 3 times. So enough is enough - let's talk issues!

Speaking of birthdays, it is my boss's boss's birthday. I made him a spice cake with carmel-pecan frosting.

Have a good day.

2008 Day Two Hundred Seventy Eight

When you have no vision, no platform, no record to run on the only way to run your campaign on is negative. Remember the swiftboat traitors? The sheep faux news followers will believe what they are told to believe. The first guy they are linking Obama to is a guy who he worked on a charity committee with. I've worked on charity committees in the past, and I could not pick the members. But like I said, no record, no platform, no new ideas and you are coming from the politcal party who got us in this financial/war mess...

Today is much cooler but bright and sunny with fluffy white clouds streaming across the sky. Not sure what we are going to do today. I'm still working on cleaning out our office of all the paper that should be shredded or tossed. We want to sell the 2 big desks and replace them with smaller corner desks, then we can fit a daybed in there. We also want to paint, make pillows and find artwork for the walls. I also want to create my vision board.

Hope everyone has a nice Sunday with lots of rest before another work week is upon us.

2008 Day Two Hundred Seventy Seven

Woke to soft rain this morning. It is suppose to rain all day. It's laundry and housework day.

OJ Found Guilty! Such sweet justice, the verdict coming in on the anniversary of his aquittal. We all know he murdered Nicole and Ron. He got away with murder. So arrogant! I hope he gets life in prision. I guess he won't be playing golf for awhile or throwing any women out of his car. He's finally getting what he deserved so many years ago.

It's been one of those wonderful fall days. Big dark heavy clouds above and a slight cool breeze. Makes me want to make chili or stew with homemade bread. I've been working on little projects all day, mostly trying to clean off my desk. I drove DK to work. He will be working a double shift. So M and I have the house to ourselves tonight.

2008 Day Two Hundred Seventy Six

The debate...we could have had a drinking game everytime she said she was a mayor or a governor. Why couldn't he had said, ok so you were a mayor..lets talk about that. You raised taxes on the citizens of Wasilla to build a hockey arena, which you built on land that You as chief executive did not check to see if you owned. You left the town 20 million in debt - So in debt that they had to hire a city manager to help them with the money trouble you left them. Governor...lets discuss all the scandals, the mentioning of banning books, Todd working unofficially in the office and refusing to answer a subpeona... I could go on and on. It's easy to run from the troubles your political party has caused saying you don't want to discuss the past... if I was a republican, I would be embarrassed to discuss the current past too. Joe should of kept hammering that we were better off 8 years ago!

If they win, I will never mention politics ever again.

Just to mention some of the trees are in full fall colors. Oranges, reds and purples. I am going to try and take some pictures amd post them this weekend.

M is going back to work today. He is not completely well, but well enough.

Have a great weekend!

2008 Day Two Hundred Seventy Six

I am looking forward to the debate tonight. I'm hoping it will be more interesting than the the first Obama/Grampy McSame debate. I don't like the format of this debate where it will be questions with a 90 second answer - no rebuttal. She will have stock answers that have been crammed in her brain. But we will see.

Turning fall here. The leaves are starting to turn. We are suppose to get some rain today and back to the cooler temps. M's been home all week trying to get better. He was doing good yesterday but last night started to feel crummy again.

Thank you for all the birthday wishes. It was so great to know I have many friends. Betty I loved the singing and the cake! You are such a wonderful friend! And especially too to Pidomon. You are the best my friend!

2008 Day Two Hundred Seventy Five

I'm going to make a wish and blow out all the candles!
