Saturday August 8

It's finally Saturday. And so much cooler. Looks like it rained a little bit overnight.

We don't plan on going anywhere this weekend. Just working around the house. I think we are rearranging every room. So its the bigger upstairs bedroom first on our list. The closet will be for Michael's clothes. Plans are to put his desk and desktop computer in there and maybe a work table. At least we do not have to paint that room. It is 2 colors of green and we have loved that room since the first time we saw this house.

Movie for this weekend is Inkheart. Dinner plans are Smothered Pork Chops, baked red potatoes, fresh cooked green beans (more from Joyce's garden - yum) and peach tea.

I have jewelry orders to make and deliver, birthday present to mail and other odds and ends of a never ending to do list to complete.

Hope everyone has a joyful weekend.

2009 Day One Hundred Ninety Six

It was a pretty good day at work. Sold some earrings. Talked to Michelle, the gal who owns the art studio. There might be an avenue there to sell some jewelry.

Joyce is taking some flyers to her friends tonight. Thank you Joyce.

After work I stopped by my friend's Melissa's house and left my card for her to call me. I called Barb and she is down in Portland at her daughter's recovering from laser surgery to remove a tumor that was behind her eye.

Tonight we are going to Rancho Chico to celebrate Chris' birthday. Should be fun! Ole!

Hope everyone has a nice evening too.

2009 Day One Hundred Ninety Five

Much cooler today, but look out, its supposed to heat up again. I have everything almost ready for the trunk show for next Saturday.

Now its just create as much as possible before Saturday.

We went for a long drive today. It was nice to get out and about for the day. I made us a nice steak dinner when we got home. True Blood was good tonight, but I think the next episode will be better.

Tomorrow morning I have to get up and going early. I have a physical therapy for my shoulder/arm appointment at 7:00. My boss will be gone all week. There is rumor that we will have 8 large groups to add for the coming month.

Hope everyone has a good week.

2009 Day One Hundred Ninety Four

Here I am again apologizing for not keeping up my blog. There is so much going on. Work has been busy, so no time there to update.

The trunk show is next Saturday. I finalized the deal yesterday. Its funny, I chose a place just knowing she would agree to do it at a reasonable price and I am estatic about it. I am doing the fliers this morning. Still need the following: white tablecloth, 2 hand held mirrors, receipt book and fish bowl. I am very excited.

The little heat wave going through here is miserable, but, bearable. Our grandson has been here. The weekend before last it was the arcade and last weekend it was cosmic bowling. Lots of fun.

M bought me the computer version game Deal or No Deal. Won the $1,000,000 already. Wish it was for real.

Hope everyone is enjoying their summer. It sure is flying by fast. July is 1/2 over already.

2009 Day One Hundred Eighty Five

The jewelry business is getting busy. I met with a girl yesterday who is getting married and she wants me to create the bridesmaid's jewlery. I finished that last night when I got home. I am working on putting the trunk show together. Found the place and another person. I would like to find one more person, but, if not, that's okay. Need to finish up the display for the dog necklaces for The Yuppy Puppy.

2009 Day One Hundred Eighty Three

The heat wave has lifted and we can enjoy a few days in the 70's. Nice.

I am looking for two jewlery or fabric designers to do a trunk show with. I'm thinking of putting an ad on Craigs List. Maybe just an ad on the board of Rings and Things.

Life now is content. I'm sure something will come along to mess it up.

2009 Day One Hundred Eighty Two

Sometimes I miss the ocean. I never thought I would live so far from it.

It was a nice 3 day weekend. I had a great day on Friday going to Bead Stampede with Joyce and Irene. Saturday was hot and quiet. Yesterday we took Jacob to the arcade and then had a bbq with the family.

Thunderstorm blew in overnight to cool us off. Nice.
Hope everyone has a great week.

2009 Day One Hundred Seventy Eight

Last work day of the week! Going out with the girls after work to the River Inn so we can sit outside by the river. It will be in the 80's which is hot for us, so, it will be nice.

Looking forward to the 3 day weekend. I hope everyone has a nice time.

2009 Day One Hundred Seventy Seven

Up early. Need to make an early start on the day. Gas the car, coffee and to work early to catch up on what was not done by leaving early yesterday. Two more days. Sugar was a little high this morning, maybe Raw was not the best choice. I vow to make better choices from now on.

Paid 3 bills: New lawn guy, old lawn fertilizing company and the pest control spray guy. I keep asking myself, why did we buy a house? Seems the upkeep keeps rising. Almost had M talked into selling and renting again. But no he's content to stay where we are for the next 5 years.

Going to the post office and fruitstand at lunch. At least that is the plan. I will try and post a little later.

2009 Day One Hundred Seventy Six

I've been away, but, now I am back. I wish I had tales of adventure and excitement, but, no...life has been going along normal as ever.

I've been enjoying summer. The garden is growing and we will have lots of tomatoes once it warms up enough to turn them red. I'm still making jewelry. This weekend is the Bead Stampede in Couer d'Alene. They hold it twice a year. The one held in Spokane is in October.

Work is busy. I thought I could update my blog at work, but, everytime I tried something would come up and off in the direction I would fly.

****
So again today I thought I would have time at work to finish this post, but...too busy. Plus I only work a 1/2 a day.

Before the doctor appointments M took me to a new restaurant Raw. Hawaiian cusine. I thought it would be nicer inside, but, the server was wonderful and the food was fab. I chose the 3 item lunch platter. The 3 items I chose were teriyaki hibachi charred short ribs, lemon chicken and tempura shrimp served with ginger slaw and white sticky rice. All for 8.99.

2009 Day One Hundred Sixty Seven

Its finally the weekend. Time to enjoy. We went for Thai food yesterday at lunch. It was cool and rainy so we did not get to sit outside as planned. But the restaurant was gorgeous, filled with exotic statuary and a buddah waterwall I just fell in love with. We did have a booth by the windows that overlooked the river. It was just 4 of us and we had alot of fun as always.

Today is dog grooming day and a few errands. So most of the day can be spent working on jewelry and house chores. Finshed the book, Lovely Bones, so I now start a new book Nine Lives by Dan Baum.

2009 Day One Hundred Sixty Three

Blame the lack of posts on watching episodes of True Blood, making jewelry every waking minute of the day or just because it is almost summer. Or maybe because my life is so simply normal boring that there isn't too much exciting things to blog about.

I could tell you there are 4 tomatoes on our plants, but, no jalapenos, yet. Work is going great. I will not be attending the staff picnic on Thursday, due to the BBQ'd catered food is loaded with sugar. But Thursday evening we are going to the television studio to be part of an audience of a program about healthcare. Ted, our vice president, will be part of the panel. We all picked out our shirts for the August Lake Coeur d'Alene cruise. My shirt will be a light pink. Friday is our department monthly outing. This month we have chosen Bangkok Thai. They have outdoor seating on the river.

I have removed the music radio from my blog. I have discovered Pandora internet radio and that is what I listen to at work now. I would love to add a background wallpaper to my blog, but, looks like I would need to load everything again if I do that.

2009 Day One Hundred Fifty Nine

I'm so glad it is Friday, as always do, and cannot wait to scoot out of work at 4:00.

Working on my business this weekend. I must make the display and product for the dog charm necklaces to drop off at The Yuppy Puppy. Lots to do for the new website like pictures and designing the brochure. Plus we are painting and moving the office and using that room for my new studio.

Hope everyone enjoys there weekend. I would love to know what you are up to.

2009 Day One Hundred Fifty Six

It was rainy and cold yesterday and I dressed for summer. Figures. Looks like a much nicer day today.

Linda and Maureen were on a vacation day yesterday. Made the office quiet. I had enough work to keep me busy.

The past few nights we have been watching the first season of True Blood. It is so good and we are so hooked. Tonight is episode 4. Lots of good stuff on tv lately. I have started recording the new season of Food Network Star.

Have a great Tuesday.

2009 Day one Hundred Fifty Five

It was an uneventful weekend. Maybe that's why the lack of posts. We took a drive out in the country yesterday. I wish I had taken the camera. Next time.

Much cooler temps for today and the rest of the week. High 60's with a threat of rain. We did get the rest of the tomato plants and the cucumber plant in the ground. So rain would be nice.

2009 Day One Hundred Fifty Two

Quiet day at work today. Most of our team took today off due to graduations. It is warm and humid. Maybe a chance for thunderstorms tonight.

M went and picked up my jewlery displays and more earring cards. When he dropped them off we decided to go to lunch. Just a quick bite at Taco Bell.

This weekend I will be working on some earrings and necklaces using little frame charms with dog pictures for my display at The Yuppy Puppy. I'll finally put the Cricut machine to a good workout.

2009 Day One Hundred Fifty One

I haven't posted in a few days. Our garden is growing and is healthy and most of the plants have flowers and buds on them. The new lawn guy starts today. I went to Hollywood Video and rented the first season of True Blood. I am now ready for season 2 to start on HBO. Burn Notice starts up again next week. I've been making earrings like crazy and selling quite a bit. I need to take the time and start making bracelettes and necklaces.

My life has slipped into a comforting routine. Work has been a little slow and we all hope it picks up. But all in all life is good for the moment. So I should relax and enjoy it.

2009 Day One Hundred Forty Eight

I didn't know exactly how to put in words how I feel about the assasination murder of Dr. Tiller. For almost 40 years we have been fighting the good fight to keep abortion legal and safe for all women. And yesterday we are again reminded that there are domestic terrorists that put our freedoms at risk. Christian hippocrites whose definition are:
1 : a person who puts on a false appearance of virtue or religion
2 : a person who acts in contradiction to his or her stated beliefs or feelings

are the terrorists we must fear. This murderer is just the tip of the iceberg. The ones who icite murder and hatred such as the hate shows of FOX TV should be prosecuted right along with the bombers and murderers.

I am so sad that this is still continuing. We need to give to NARAL/Planned Parenthood and volunteer to fight these terrorists everytime they come to our towns. Run them out of town and show them for what they are. Christian Hippocrites!

2009 Day One Hundred Forty Six

Weekend Bliss. A beautiful day ahead of us. 85 degrees. Who could ask for anything more? Well, there is more. Alot of fun events going on around town. Plus I found a Bead Trunk Show/Sale. Yes, I will hit that first.

I stayed up till 2:00 am making earrings. Late today I am going to work on bracelettes and necklaces.

I hope everyone has a fabulous on the way to summer day.

2009 Day One Hundred Forty Five

This picture is the Goddess of Mercy and Compassion.

Its finally Friday. For a short week it sure seemed long. Not much going on around these parts. Yesterday at lunch I went and got my car washed and stopped at the bead shop in the Flour Mill. I sold quite a few pairs of earrings this week. This weekend I am going to work on bracelettes and necklaces.

It is supposed to be 85 degrees today. We need to install the air conditioners this weekend. This weekend there is a fun event called PetFest going on or Artfest over in Browne's Addition. Not sure which one I want to go to. I think the garage sale I had planned is on hold until I can gather enough stuff to sell.

Have a fun Friday!

2009 Day One Hundred Forty Three

Our lawn guy disappeared on a what we think was a drunk binge and did not show up for a week. I was planning on firing him because I hired another reliable lawn guy to start tomorrow. Of course drunk binge lawn guy shows up while I am at work and cuts the grass. So now I have to call reliable lawn guy and put him off a week because I do not want to pay for 2 lawn cuttings in 1 week.

This is my luck!!

2009 Day One Hundred Forty One

Last Day of my vacation and looks like it is going to be a beauty of a day. Hopefully we are going to get our plants all planted. I'm working on filling my new storage bins full of my beads so I can move it upstairs to my new/old studio.

I am holding a CONTEST! To enter send me a picture (jpeg preferred) of the cutest house in your neighborhood or surrounding area. The winning picture will win something fabulous. Enter by next Saturday May 29th. I cannot wait to see some super looking houses. Enter at: moosejewels@comcast.net

2009 Day One Hundred Forty

Went out for a drive this morning. What a beautiful day! Sunshine all over the place. We stopped and bought plants for the garden. Yesterday at Winco (my new grocery store of choice because I can bag my own groceries and they are way cheaper) I found the Topsy Turvy tomato planters and bought 2 of them to hand from our deck. So the plants we bought today include 5 or 6 tomato plants, lemon cucumber, 2 jalapeno plants and 2 big beautiful, fragrant Jasmine plants. So tonight when it gets cooler (its 80 degrees or warmer right now) we will put down the weed screen and cut some holes to plant the plants. By tomorrow we should have them all planted. We also stopped at Target and bought a new BBQ grill for our old BBQ. That's all it needed to make it good as new. We are BBQ'ing pork ribs tonight.

Last night we watched the movie Perfect Murder with Viggo Mortensen, Michael Douglas and Gwenyth Paltrow. We both thought it was a good movie.

2009 Day One Hundred Thirty Nine

Happy start to your Memorial Day Weekend. I wanted to sell jewelry today, but, that plan fell through. Our weather is beyond perfect. Normally it always rains on Memorial Day Weekend, but, not this year. M had to work today. After today he will have Sunday through Wednesday off to finish off his vacation. I have to go back to work on Tuesday.

Next Saturday I am going to have a garage/yard sale. I have quite a bit of stuff to clear out. On the deck, away from the sun, I can set up my jewelry. At least that is the plan.

Friday, May 22, 2009

2009 Day One Hundred Thirty Eight

It was alot warmer today. We took the dogs to the groomer this morning. Stopped for coffee at Wut's Brewin on Country Homes Blvd. I had a very yummy sugar free blened double chocolate mocha. After leaving the dogs off we ventured over to Home Depot. We bought the a replacement window blind, a really cool stain glass overlay for the kitchen's back door window and 2 parts bins for all my beads. Saw my old friend Tonette who used to live a couple doors down from the old rental house. I am going over tomorrow to her place, she is having a garage sale and offered me space to display my jewelry. I might be able to sell some earrings.

I spent the rest of the day carding and re-bagging my earrings for sale. The other day ago we went to the warehouse that sells display items and I bought displays to assist in selling and also for picture taking.

Vacation sure zipped by. Only the long weekend left. I hope everyone has a great holiday weekend full of sun, bbq and fun.

2009 Day One Hundred Thirty Seven

Spent the whole day hanging around home. We did not go anywhere all day. We both had a lazy day.

Yeah Kris won Idol! I am now recording the new show Glee. All my favorite shows come back in June.

Maybe tomorrow will be more exciting.

Wednesday, May 20, 2009

2009 Day One Hundred Thirty Six Vacation Day5

It was pretty windy and cool yesterday. Did not have the BBQ as planned. Cooked the short ribs in the oven. Served those along with cornbread, hominy and pinto beans.

We took a drive out to the valley. Stopped at Best Buy looking for a fan for my desktop computer. Then onto the industrial park looking for a distributor of displays. Of course I forgot the ad and could not remember their name. We could not find them. So back home we went stopping at the store for a few groceries.

Today I have the name and address for the display place, so, we are going to make another attempt in finding the place.

I went to bed really early last night, so, I missed Idol. I will watch it sometime today. I am hoping Kris wins. I have never really cared for Adam from the very beginning. If you want a screaching and screamer of a signer, then Adam's your guy. If you want a singer who is inventive and has a range, then Kris is your guy.

Day One Hundred Thirty Seven Vacation Day4

This painting is called Wind in the Trees. And out my window is what we have - wind through our trees.

Where did Vacation Day 3 go? Not very far. We ventured out and stopped at my favorite coffee stand, Walnut Street Perk, first thing. We drove out to Airway Heights to the Walmart Supercenter in hopes to find BBQ parts for our grill. Of course they were out of what we needed. But I did buy a cool pair of brown flip flops and a new purse.

Didn't really have a plan beyond Walmart, so we headed back to town and drove up to South Hill. We stopped at Hangar 57 for lunch. I ordered the Philly Steak Sandwich, the owner came back and said no beef, I then said anchovie pizza, he said no anchovies (they were on the menu) I then chose Thai pizza, he came back and said they were out of chicken, I said ok how about a sausage pizza, he came back and said they forgot to heat up the pizza oven, I said ok how about a Italian sausage sandwich. At this point I went to the restroom. While gone from the table he had returned and asked if salami was ok. M said yes. Finally got our lunch and it was good. They comp'd our lunch. Whoot! I gave the girl server 2 pairs of earrings and back in the sunshine we went. It actually was in the high seventies. With no real plan we went home and hung out.

They are doing road construction about a block away and the noise is really annoying. Plus they have the streets detoured so it proves there are 2 seasons in Spokane: winter snow and construction.

No plans again today, but, we are going to BBQ some short ribs. The weather turned cooler and windy today with a chance of thunderstorms. But should warm up again by the holiday weekend.

2009 Day One Hundred Thirty Five Vacation Day 2

Yesterday on my first day of vacation was like every other Saturday. I did take a drive out to the valley to find a bead shop Joyce told me about. But it was a wild goose chase...no bead shop. So I browsed through the Bumbleberry's Quilt Store. Lots of wonderful fabric. But I have so much fabric now. So I need to actually set up the new sewing machine the insurance company bought me and use it before investing in any more fabric. I spent the rest of the day doing laundry, polishing furniture and making jewelry.

When M got home from work I had chicken enchiladas with green sauce made. With the failed pound cake I cubed it up and made a trifle for Michael with strawberries and cool whip.

Today on my 2nd day of vacation we drove up to Loon Lake to have brunch with the family. The weather is so perfect today. After a wonderful brunch we said our goodbyes and headed north. Drove up to Colville and then east through the Pend Orielle National Forest and drove along the Pend Orielle River. (Its pronounced Ponderay) We stopped at one of the scenic points and took pictures of this beautiful impromptu waterfall.

We stopped at a little trading post on Gillette Lake for bottled water and aspirin. They have little cabins you can rent. We thought this might be a great place to stay over a weekend.

We wanted to drive to Sandpoint, ID, but, should have started out way earlier in the day. In Deer Park we stopped for coffee. I now know I do not care for iced coffee. I like blenda mochas, but not iced. Since they do not make a sugar free granita, I tried the iced coffee.

Now we are home and we are relaxing and enjoying being on vacation. Will have more pictures tomorrow from Day 3.

From Utah Savage's blog I played the crayon color game.

You Are a Yellow Crayon

Your world is colored with happy, warm, fun colors.

You have a thoughtful and wise way about you. Some people might even consider you a genius.

Charming and eloquent, you are able to get people to do things your way.

While you seem spontaneous and free wheeling, you are calculating to the extreme.

Your color wheel opposite is purple. You both are charismatic leaders, but purple people act like you have no depth.

2009 Day One Hundred Thirty Two

Do you believe in fairies? I knew a woman who was convinced they exist. Back then I was such a pessimist, but now, I think I'm coming around to the idea that they do exist. So this spring I am going to plant a fairy flower garden. Plenty of flowers that they use as cups to turn upwards and catch the rain drops when it falls.

We had a pretty good soaker overnight. Looking around while driving through town everything is so green and lush. The trees are all coming back to life. I love all the tulips and daffodils in everyone's front yards. Two more days till vacation. I plan to take alot of pictures while on vacation so I can share how beautiful the northwest is.

Today our fearless leader is treating us to a lunch and tour of the new YWCA. He wants our opinion if he should spring for a corporate membership for us. It's Ben's birthday in our office, so I baked and brought an apple crisp for the occasion.

M is working the day shift today so we can actually have dinner together tonight. Tacos with homemade salsa and beans. Two of my favorite shows are on tonight: Ugly Betty and Gray's Anatomy.

2009 Day One Hundred Thirty One

It was a routine morning. Shower, dress, medicine, test blood, Cheerios (with blueberries)dress, hair, gather my stuff and out the door. I did have a little time to finish some earrings I was working on last night. Even sold a pair when I got to work. I stopped at Mugshots on Garland for a mocha. It was very good.

Today at lunch American West Bank downtown is having Shred Day. So I brought the bag I've been stuffing all my shredables in so I can drop that off. We burned up our shredder awhile back and have not replaced it.

2009 Day One Hundred Thirty

Its a bright crisp morning. I am counting the days down till vacation. Not much else going on except work, jewelry making and book reading.

Hope everyone has a great day.

2009 Day One Hundred Twenty Eight Mothers Day

Happy Mothers Day and Happy Sunday. Another bright and sunny morning. We are going over to the in-laws for a BBQ today. M's sister and brother-in-law are in town also.
I am in search this morning for those upside down tomato planters.

Saturday, May 9, 2009

2009 Day One Hundred Twenty Nine

Its a bright sunny morning. My plans are to work on house chores, I am not sure what is going on in town today. I do have to make the dreaded trip to Walmart for a few things I can only get there. Other than that it is a free form day.

Friday, May 8, 2009

2009 Day One Hundred Twenty Seven

I love this picture. A flower child for sure.

Today is the pals in the office lunch outing for the month of May. We chose DeLeon's downtown location. I'm hoping the food is as good as the one up north.

After work I am going out with Joyce and Irene for some fabric and craft shopping in Cheney.

Ending the evening with pizza at Round Table at 5 mile with M.

I'm hoping for a perfect Friday. Hope you all have one also.
