2008 Day Sixty One

Happy Leap Year Day! Please enjoy the art of one of my favorite artists, Ray McCarty.
One of these days I am going to make it to Jackson Hole, Wyoming and stroll through
his gallery and enjoy his wonderful paintings.

2008 Day Sixty

It's getting closer to the weekend. I am so happy tomorrow is Friday. It has been a long week.
I am looking forward to this weekend. There are 2 Bead Shows going on.

Never drink coffee on a week night. I am wide awake and need to go to bed!

They kicked off one of my favorites from American Idol. Robbie (Bandana Boy) is now gone. I cannot believe they kept Luke.

The weather was really Spring-like today. It got up to 51 degrees and tomorrow it is supposed to get to 52 degrees. I had my car washed today so you guessed it, they are calling for rain for tomorrow night. At least that may wash away the remaining snow berms, which would be nice. Dirty piles of snow are nasty to look at. We will probably have one more snow storm before Spring offically arrives like every year. It always teases us with a preview of Spring and then wham - it hits us with snow. One year it snowed for the St. Patrick's Day parade. We were really sick of winter that year.

2008 Day Fifty Nine

I was going to go to the credit union today and open checking accounts for both companies, but, my personal banker, Robyn is off this week. So I will put that task off until next week.

I have decided I need to lighten ship. I have so much stuff. Maybe because we are just around the corner til Spring and that spring cleaning bug is getting to me. I really need to get organized and get rid of alot of the things or stuff I just don't need. It's just trying to decide where to start.

Work was crazy as always because we had so many people who called off today. After work I stopped by the bead shop on Garland. I did not buy anything. Their prices were way to high and selection was not all that great either.

I tried to stay up and watch American Idol last night, but, I kept falling asleep. At least I DVR'd it. Maybe tonight I can stay awake for the women portion for the week.

2008 Day Fifty Eight

After work I went to the Department of Revenue and got my business license. Spotted Moose Productions is official.

This afternoon I finished a turquoise & silver necklace. My next project is a yellow and white with silver flowers necklace.

I watched Oprah. She had Rick Springfield on. He is still so cute! He came to Spokane once and I guess he was so drunk and abusive to the audience they booed him off the stage. I can't imagine. She also had on Henry Winkler and William Shatner. Now I want to watch Boston Legal. The previews looked hilarious.

I watched a few shows that I had DVR'd. The elimination episode of American Idol from last week and the newest episode of CMT's Gone Country.

Not much else going on. Just a regular Tuesday.

2008 Day Fifty Seven

It was beyond busy today at work. The girl that sits in the desk right next to me got sick and went home. We had about 12 people off and another 5 on disability. It was crazy.
Driving home I glanced at my gas tank and sure enough I need gas. When I drove by the gas station I could not believe that I saw gas has gone up to $3.29 per gallon. Last week when I bought gas it was $2.98. Can we all say gouging? I wish I could buy an electric car and never have to buy gas again.

Not much else going on. Nothing on tv. I watched Dr Phil and saw the girl who only weighs 59 lbs. And then I watched Oprah because she had Valerie Bertenelli on about her new book. Isn't it amazing how most of our lives revolve around weight - bad and good.

It is going to be an early evening for me tonight. I am too tired too think. Tomorrow will be a better day.

2008 Day Fifty Six

Sundays are always great. Today has been especially nice. I've been beading, doing laundry, reading friend's blogs and watching tv. Too bad I have to go back to work tomorrow.

California is getting lots of rain, so the NASCAR race has been delayed for rain. Should make the red carpet for the Oscars kind of soggy tonight.

It snowed this morning but now is just gloomy around 36 degrees.

2008 Day Fifty Five

This morning M and I worked on setting up my website for Spotted Moose Productions. I will hopefully have it published by early this week. I am so excited about getting this accomplished.

I also finished beading the newest necklace with a sand castle/beach theme. I decided to make my own sand castle pendant.

Today's Photo Hunt theme is WOODEN. I have decided to use wooden themed pictures today. Here are the photos I have chosen:

I love wooden spoons. All shapes and sizes. I use them when when I am happy cooking or baking in my kitchen.

I love wooden shutters. I think they can make any house look charming. One of my goals is to add shutters and flower boxes to the front of our house.

2008 Day Fifty Four

There is no end
There is no beginning
There is only the infinite passion of life

Federico Fellini

They fed us free pancakes today. Okay now, pizza yesterday, pancakes today... I'm waiting for the other show to drop... hmmm

I am happy it is Friday. I have 2 days to recoup and rest up for another week ahead.

Tomorrow I am taking my first crochet lesson. I have the yarn and the needle, so I am ready for the lesson. So cool.

I finished a really pretty blue necklace this afternoon. My next necklace will be made with shells and stone beads in white and brown color tones. I hope it turns out as petty as I think it will. There is a big craft show at the college tomorrow. I would like to go to see how I would set up a booth to sell my crafts, but with the lesson I don't know if I will have the time. Also this weekend I am going to work on the price tags with a spotted moose print on them that goes inside the bags with the necklaces.

2008 Day Fifty Three

The state is cracking down on the company and now we must take at a least a 30 minute lunch. Bummer. I liked my 15 minute lunch. Now I will have to stay for 15 mins longer each day. Holly for some unknown reason bought us pizza today. It was a nice gesture, but makes me wonder what they have up their sleeve that they are buttering us up for.

After work I went by 3 places and paid bills and then to the bank to deposit a small check we got in the mail yesterday.

No big excitement going on around here today. I'm recording anything good that might come on tv and going to bed early! Two good things for today - they shot down the satellite that was falling towards earth and John McCain's skeletons are sneaking out of the closet. Can someone tell me why his wife's eyes look so wierd?

2008 Day Fifty Two

Full moon means crazy people on the phone....and no vacation day in sight.

After work I took M his lunch that he left at home. The weather is remaining really nice for right now. I know this will not last long.

I have not accomplished very much since being home. I have started a few things, but have not finished anything. No motivation, I guess.

Last night I watched American Idol. It was really good. There are so many good singers this year that the judging is going to be pretty hard. Tonight the girls solo. I will probably stay up and watch. I was going to take a nap today, but never got around to that either.

2008 Day Fifty One

It is like Spring today. So beautiful. The snow is definitely melting away. Definitely loving it!

I am still enjoying the Jordan Sparks' cd. It is my favorite so far this year. Looking forward to American Idol tonight.

I dropped off our primary ballots. We waited till the last minute. We are such procrastinators. Ugh! For democrats in Washington state they really don't count. They just help the super delegates decide who to vote for at the convention. The regular delegates are decided at caucus. Confusing, but, that is the system.

While I was dropping of the ballots I went into the library and picked up the books I had on reserve. Lots of great beading books.

This afternoon I plan on catching up laundry, watching the blue skinned man on Oprah and work on some beading projects. Exciting life, hu?

2008 Day Fifty

I listened to the new Jordan Sparks cd on my way to work this morning. It is truly fantastic. I am so glad I splurged and bought it.

We watched the movie, "Employee of the Month" last night. It was a lighthearted funny movie. Makes you wonder if all that kind of stuff really goes on at Costco.

The race yesterday was great. I had picked Ryan Newman as my new favorite driver after Rusty Wallace retired. Because I was heart sick when they let Kurt Bursch take over Rusty's car and it will always be Rusty's car. Ryan had not won a race for 2 years, so it was terrific that he won this race of all races. I hope this is the beginning of an exciting new year of racing. So it is off to California next weekend.

Work was slow today. I guess because of the holiday or because the first time in a year everyone showed up for work. No call offs. But tomorow will probably be back to normal for us wage slaves.

I spent the afternoon with M. He has Sundays and Mondays off. It was nice to actually see him and spend time together for a change.

2008 Day Forty Eight

Woke up from a good night's sleep and I am feeling energized and more myself. It's amazing how sleep can do that.

This week's theme is FREE.

I love street musicians who share their music for free. I know they play for tips, and I always do tip if I have the money. But the freedom of sharing music and song is one of the best things in life. Does anyone else remember from the 60's getting together for Hootenannys? No money involved, no egos, just the love of singing and playing music. So with that in mind I want to share some photos of some street musicians.

Nobody stopped to hear him

Though he played so sweet and high

They knew he had never Been on their t.v.

So they passed his music by

I meant to go over and ask for a song

Maybe put on a harmony...

I heard his refrain As the signal changed

He was playing real good, for free

...Joni Mitchell "For Free"

We took the dogs including our folk's dog, Angel, do the Yuppie Puppy to have them bathed and trimmed. After dropping them off M and I stopped at Arby's and had a leisurely lunch where we talked about our week and what we hope to accomplish in the next coming week. I dropped him off at work and then cruised back home.

On the way to pick up the pups I stopped at Pool World and bought some shock for the hot tub with hopes that we can have a nice soak tonight when M comes home.

This afternoon I have a few chores to accomplish around home and some beading projects to work on.

2008 Day Forty Seven

It's payday and Friday! Did the almost impossible - went to Walmart and then to Safeway to do the grocery shopping. That is a true workout. I wanted to get it done before it started raining or snowing. And yes, once again it is snowing. It was getting so nice. Roads were dry and clear, the snow berms were melting, I could actually wear real shoes instead of snow boots... and now the white crap is back. I am sick of winter and just want it to go away.

This has been a long and exhausting week. I will write a longer post tomorrow after I have a long nights rest.

2008 Day Forty Six

Happy Valentine's Day!

Not much going on today. Work was just, well, work. Went to the library as I do most Thursdays. Returned books and checked just a few. I picked up a heart shaped pizza from Papa Murphy's. With M at work till 9:00 I did not feel like cooking and definitely did not want to do dishes.

I am pretty tired tonight. The last few nights I have stayed up later than usual and I'm really feeling it tonight. I didn't even feel like doing Thursday 13.

Have a lovely evening and I will post more tomorrow.

2008 Day Forty Five

I made it! I have been added to the Admiral's blogroll. Everyone should visit In A Mad, Mad, Mad World. He always has the most fun and interesting posts.

I sold 3 of my necklaces today. That has given me confidence to make more. They have cancelled the potluck for tomorrow, so, I do not have to worry about that tonight.

The sun was shining today and I can feel Spring just around the corner. After work I took M some lunch and we had lunch together. That was nice to see during the day.

I stayed up way too late last night watching the 2 hour episode of American Idol. It is going to be a great season. Such Talent! Better than in years past. I also watch some of the first episode of Big Brother. I never care for the first couple of episodes, not until we get to know which houseguests to like and ones you hate. Then it gets interesting.

Today would have been my father's birthday. I miss him everyday. He was such a kind and wonderful soul. I miss him everyday. Happy Birthday Daddy!

DK called this evening. It was so nice hearing from him. He is so much like me at that age. Restless and full of wanderlust, always wanting to travel to faraway lands to seek fun and adventure.

2008 Day Forty Three

Back to work. What a great 3 day weekend I had. It was busy today as always but time seemed to just click on by. No real bad calls for a change.

They decided to have a Goodie Potluck for Valentine's Day. I'm trying to decide what I want to make. I'm thinking on making some kind cookie bars. I will need to look down in my pantry and see what I have.

Stopped at Walmart on my way home. Lot's of people buying Valentine cards and gifts. I am passing that whole scene this year. We don't really have the money this year. Last year I went all out, so maybe I can slide this year. I will make M a nice dinner with his favorite Pineapple Cake.

Watched another episode of Gone Country that I had recorded. I was right, Bobby Brown is messed up. Then I watched Dr Phil because Jordan Sparks was on and she sang her song Tattoo. I really want to buy her cd on payday. I also want to get the DVD Across the Universe. I'll be watching American Idol tonight and recording Big Brother to watch tomorrow.

Lorna called and dropped by for a visit. I bought the cutest pair of Valentine earrings she made. She also gave me a really cute cell phone beaded cord. She is so sweet. I really enjoy her friendship. I cannot wait till we can get together and do beading again. Right now I am working on my next necklace. I am using colors of lime green, orange and yellow. Sounds wierd but it looks summery and cute.

2008 Day Forty Two

It was a blissful day off. The snow is melting and no snow on the horizon. At least we hope so.

I just puttered around the house all day. I did alot of laundry and worked on de-cluttering my craft room. I finished the Valentine necklace and made 2 others - a really pretty blue one using the blue marbelized fetish bear beads and a muted pinkinsh lavender mauve one with pearls. I was pleased how they all turned out.

I watched an episode of Big Medicine that I had recorded. And I watched the first episode of Gone Country. The lead singer from Twister Sister and Bobby Brown singing country? Should be an interesting series. Big Brother starts tomorrow night! And Hell's Kitchen comes back in April. Oprah was so good today. I love the shows when she has Nate on it. The house re-do he did was amazing. I also watched Dr Phil's 1000th show. I will definitely be watching tomorrow when he has my new favorite singer, Jordan Sparks, on his show.

Back to work tomorrow, Ugh! But it pays the bills. My next Monday off is for Saint Patrick's Day. That should be fun.

Sunday, February 10, 2008

2008 Day Forty One

Spent a nice relaxing day home with M.

I did finish the Saint Patrick's necklace and now I am working on a Valentine red necklace.

Did not get done much of what I planned. Got up early and then went back to bed and slept in till 1:00.

We have been watching the video Planet Earth. Amazing photography.

Ok, Obama won at the caucus, but not because of me. I still don't think he is experienced or thick skinned enough to survive the upcoming dirtiest campaigns we have ever seen. But as I have always said, "Its all good now that I've given up hope"

The US Peace League fund raising campaign called and asked if I could make a $1000 donation. As much as I admire their cause, I am still chuckling.

I love this picture of Sir Doggie Lot. I wonder if it comes in Sammie's size?
