2009 Day One Hundred Thirty Five Vacation Day 2

Yesterday on my first day of vacation was like every other Saturday. I did take a drive out to the valley to find a bead shop Joyce told me about. But it was a wild goose chase...no bead shop. So I browsed through the Bumbleberry's Quilt Store. Lots of wonderful fabric. But I have so much fabric now. So I need to actually set up the new sewing machine the insurance company bought me and use it before investing in any more fabric. I spent the rest of the day doing laundry, polishing furniture and making jewelry.

When M got home from work I had chicken enchiladas with green sauce made. With the failed pound cake I cubed it up and made a trifle for Michael with strawberries and cool whip.

Today on my 2nd day of vacation we drove up to Loon Lake to have brunch with the family. The weather is so perfect today. After a wonderful brunch we said our goodbyes and headed north. Drove up to Colville and then east through the Pend Orielle National Forest and drove along the Pend Orielle River. (Its pronounced Ponderay) We stopped at one of the scenic points and took pictures of this beautiful impromptu waterfall.

We stopped at a little trading post on Gillette Lake for bottled water and aspirin. They have little cabins you can rent. We thought this might be a great place to stay over a weekend.

We wanted to drive to Sandpoint, ID, but, should have started out way earlier in the day. In Deer Park we stopped for coffee. I now know I do not care for iced coffee. I like blenda mochas, but not iced. Since they do not make a sugar free granita, I tried the iced coffee.

Now we are home and we are relaxing and enjoying being on vacation. Will have more pictures tomorrow from Day 3.

From Utah Savage's blog I played the crayon color game.

You Are a Yellow Crayon

Your world is colored with happy, warm, fun colors.

You have a thoughtful and wise way about you. Some people might even consider you a genius.

Charming and eloquent, you are able to get people to do things your way.

While you seem spontaneous and free wheeling, you are calculating to the extreme.

Your color wheel opposite is purple. You both are charismatic leaders, but purple people act like you have no depth.

Sounds like a great day. I live on iced coffee in the summer. But I came out of Texas. Cast iron stomach with a taste for the dark bitter stuff.

I'm a blue crayon.

I got the week off also. I needed a break.
Not sure what I'll be doing. The only thing I know I won't be going to work.

We sure live in pretty area.

Coffee is on.
